Black Nail Polish?

I love black nail polish, and I really want to wear it, but someone I know thinks I'll look Goth. Is that true?

**I think you'll be fine, just as long as everything else you're wearing doesn't match your nails. Or if you want go to a nail salon and have them add a cool design with another color on your nails...to offset the black, not only can you still have your nails black, but you'll have a trendy little design that will take away the "goth" attention you might have gotten.

So funny you should say that, I have noticed that just about everyone wears black nail polish lately, I've seen it on celebrities a lot. I don't think it looks goth, really. Not unless you pair it with black lips and black eyeliner and black eyeshadow and black clothing and black shoes. I think you should just go for it, especially if you love it. Who is this person to tell you what color to paint your nails - they're yours! And hey, it isn't like you can't just take it off if you change your mind!

WOW you sound just like my friend. She isn't goth, but she wears black nail polish and clothes sometimes so some guys tease her about being goth. i always tell her 'forget about them, they are just trying to bug you' I would give you the same advice!! be comfortable with who you are. make a statement so you dont seem like a prep or wanna be!
If you really don't want to put up with them, try painting your nails black with white french tips!! It looks unveleivably cool and not goth at all, because it has that little touch that makes it nicer.

It is very goth-like. But I think it really depends on how old you are and what else you will be wearing while you have your nails painted black. Black/dark clothing..yes you'll look very gothic. I think it would be okay if you aren't wearing dark clothes. I personally prefer to wear red nail polish. I love it. It kind of has a classic feel.

It's just a stereotype, but if you want to avoid being labelled goth then be sure to wear it with tasteful clothing stay away from hot topic stuff. Black nail polish looks great, dark and glossy.

Not my taste, but Goth, not really unless you wear the black clothes and the whole chain in the pants thing, with the dark hair and dark makeup. Then again, what else could you possibly want to wear black nail polish for? If you could work it, go ahead girl. More power to you. and anyway if you like it, wear it , who cares what we think.

No not at all , Black nail polish is really in with all the stars. Check out this picture of Lindsey Lohan now you can't tell me she looks goth with that? I say go for it and wear it.

No. It's not true. Those are just stereotypes. I really hate them. People love thinking I'm gothic/punk/emo just because I wear black nail polish all the time. But I love the color, and I don't care about people's opinions too much. I don't think you should, too. Just wear what you want to wear, you really don't have to ask any of us how you should or shouldn't dress.

No, I love black nal polish. My friends say it looks goth too but I don't care. I paint the tips black or have the whole nail black. Celebrities wear black nail polish too, like mischa barton and avril lavaigne. I guess its "in" now.

Yea, its true. because i wear black eyeliner, and black nail polish ALLL the time, and everyone thinks im goth. and im not. so i dont really care. so really it depends on who YOU think you are. if you know your not goth, dont listen to those people and just wear the nail polish because you like it.
