If it is possible. I would like to know how much it cost (parts and labor)? How far it go per tank ( size approximately 16 inches tall, 14 inches width)? I think couple of parts would be taken out that convert sulfer to safe exause. And what are the advantages and disadvantages in the change?

It is possible, you need to change over the fuel system to handle the propane and inject the proper amounts. You'll need to have a different tank installed, as propane is much less dense than gasoline and requires a different type of tank. They'll mount it during the conversion.

Cost per mile can be pretty competitive although propane isn't as easily obtained. You can't just switch out bottles at the Home Depot.

My dad worked for a local gas company ( stove and heating gas, not gasoline ) and his truck ran on propane for years. We could always smell his exhaust when he got close to home, very distinctive. Saved us getting caught many a night ;)

As for safety, it's no more dangerous than the gasoline tank on your car right now. It's thick steel, designed to absorb the impact of a crash and it's within the vehicle's crash structure, so that's added protection.

It's not only very expensive, but the latent energy from propane(just like ethanol) is not as great as gas.

You best bet would be to just get a smaller truck to get better MPG.

carring a large container of explosive gas such as propane is not a good idea, i cannot see the price of propane being cheaper than gasoline
