I have many yellow jackets and wasps in my front yard. I have sprayed the one hive I found with Spectracide hornet and wasp killer but I still have them. I have watched their flying pattern and cannot figure out where their newest nest is. Any suggesting on how to kill them without paying the pesticide guy $50 an hour? Also are there any products better than other to spray with, possibly any home remedies?

We had a horrible yellow jacket problem a few years ago. We made homemade traps.

You can take old milk jugs or 2 liter pop bottle cut small holes in the side (just big enough for the little snots to get into),

then fill them with H2O about 1/4 full.

Some say to put a little hamburger in it to attract them some say sugar. Try a few things out see what works best for you.
Kool-aid worked best for us

The idea is they can crawl into the bottles, but they can't fly out.

It really works. We bought the store kind and they didn't work as well as the home made ones.

Do you want to get rid of them because they make you nervous? Unless there are tons of them and you just can't go outside or they are damaging things that you are growing, I would leave them alone. I totally know where you are coming from, but these bugs are beneficial too, eating other nasties in your yard. As for killing them, look in wood piles, hollow trees, cracks in your house, those kinds of places. You might want to take a dead one and identify it in a bug book. Some hornets live underground too!
