I just checked the mail and there was a letter addressed to me that says that i won money. The letter head said EMRO FINANCIAL TRUST and the check's buisness name was MCLANE COMPANY. i just need to know if anyone knows if this is a scam. Thanks.

Yes it is, I received the same letter today and all I did was call up the bank of which the check was drawn from they informed me that there is no longer an account there!! So next time you get a letter, just call the bank. They are legitimate, but there is no account there anymore. They do that to get your account info.

Yes, this is a lottery scam. The company, check, and letter are all from different parts of the world. This is a big clue. Foreign lotteries are illegal. I have gotten several of these scams since signing up to be a secret shopper, all from Canada. I have withdrawn my name from their database but I still get these scam letters. These scammers prey on the people who can least likely afford the loss. We are not all greedy Americans, just unwealthy, everyday people unable to make ends meet and are looking for ways to pay our bills. These people should be called "scummers" not scammers.

there are always new scams
best bet would be to look up any company
before you invest any money with them
double check all facts on them.
