Some women will never be able to wear their wedding rings after pregnancy. Is this just because of swelling? Weight gain? Both?

It could be because of water retention.

Both. Swelling is a huge issue when it comes to pregnancy. We all swell some just worse than others. The never being able to wear it again, I think would be more related to a heavy weight gain.

weight gain or swelling. but most likely it is because your fingers got wider. just take the rings to a jeweler and they will thin out the ring so it will fit you again.

you may have pregnancy induced hypertension witch causes extra swelling especially in the hands and ankles. also your doctor. It may also just be normal swelling and weight gain.

Both, but it doesn't effect every woman. If you find that it doesn't fit after a few months, just have it sized and you can wear it again.
