No, but they are the hardest tests to take.
In college, I had a take home final with 5 questions. It was open-whatever I had, in the days before the internet.
It took me 4 days and 86 pages to answer those 5 questions.
Brutal.

Can you believe I brought the wrong book to my open book test? So I figured if it was ok to look up an answer it was ok if I looked up. Apparently the kind of looking up I was doing was not ok...
