There are so many different scents out there. You have to first determine what type of fragrance you are looking for...strong and bold, loud, light, fruity, floral scents, etc. This would require you to go and try it out at the perfume counter.
Personally I'm a fan of the Escada brands (Island Kiss, Rockin Rio)
Miami Glo by J. LO is good one too!

Spray a sample at the perfume counter, see if you get complements, maybe ask your mom or best friend, what they think of the scent you're wearing. Try another on a different day- maybe ask for some samples to take home, and see which one works best for you, also the best perfumes are the ones you can't smell but others can, stupid I know but it's true. My best one is Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior, I can smell it when I spray it on, then it fades - hours later people are still asking me which perfume I use when I can't even smell it anymore, and my boyfriend loves it!

if you have a nordstrom's near you, they have the best service in the fragerance department. You have to figure out what type of scents you are drawn to first. do you like fresh and clean? Oriental/Spicy? Floral? Somebody at the fragrence counter can help with that.
Also, if you find one that you like, ask them to make up a small sample vial for you try out. Also, put some on and then walk around for a bit. Scents change a lot and are different on everybody.
My mom and I tried out to new perfumes by Bvlgari and tommy Bahama, and while we didn't like either, they both smelled completely different on us as time wore on throughout the day.
My faves of the moment are Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren Style.

I just went and bought some go to Fashoin bug they have a sale on some really good smelling perfume! Two bottles for $7! I got curios by:Brittney Spears and Fantasy by:Brittney Spears! I love them and I have got alot of complements!

Always try it on first and walk around the mall for an hour before you buy it. To make sure you like the way it smells on YOu. I also try all the samples in magazines that I like. This may help.
