No way! I've spent the last 30 years working toward my bachelor's degree. I changed my major twice, and couldn't pass my language class. That meant, because I had reached my senior residency and run out of money, that I could not get my degree. It was disappointing, but in no way did I waste a moment of my time. I treasure every hour in class. I learned so much about life in every class. All that information and experience is in me, in my mind. I use it all. Not a day goes by that I don't use the growth and information that gave me. I am an artist now, and artists use their medium to speak about issues and ideas. All that education filled me with the issues of the day and helps me generate so many ideas I cannot do them all. So, just a single requirement separated me from my degree, my "proof" of achievement in the eye of society. By my work will stand for my real proof. I only gained from my experience -there was no loss.

No way, I'm who I am today because of what has happened in my life - including the last 20 years.

I don't believe there is such a thing as a wasted year or day or hour.
Every action has an impact on something or someone.
Plus, who's to say what is wasted and what is productive.
Good question.

Absolutely not. I received my masters degree., got married, had a child, worked in a variety of settings that were intriguing and developed skills I never knew I had.
