Hi, I was visiting Boston and got a car rental from the airport. As I exited the airport I found myself at a toll booth with no US cash (I had Canadian cash but that was no good). The collector then took my driver's license and put down some details on an envelope and asked me to sign it. He also noted the license plate #, and then gave me the envelope saying I should mail a check within 14 days to avoid a fine.
Apart from the embarrassment and the fact that I feel really bad, is there anything else that I should worry about in terms of my driving record or insurance?

No. The cost of toll is so small, most courts and insurance companies don't consider it an issue (unless you make a habit of skipping toll booths). If you paid it, forget about it. I would take the issue up with the car rental people, though, and tell them that the license plate number was recorded and it would have been prudent for them to have mentioned the booth was there.

I don't know, I guess what the first person said. I just wanted to say.... I have never paid a toll before. I have never been anywhere that I needed to, so I would be surprised as well. Especially since I rarely carry any cash... So don't be too embarrassed, it must happen to quite a few people.

You are just fine, no points or anything, just send them a check. Nothing at all to worry about, it happens to the best of us.

It happened to me once, the worst thing about it was being told to pull forward off to the side of the road so a transit cop can come and take my info.

No just pay the bill within the time she told you and learn from the experience for the future.
