Mostly, yes I would agree. But, that is not always the case. As they get older, they become influenced by their friends and outside influences....

Rather than kids reflecting their parents behaviour I think who they are is a reation to their partents behaviour.

For example if a child has a very strict and demanding parent they will rebel eventually having had enough and in turn when they have children will be quite laid back and aloof, when this happens the child either takes advantage of the situation and manipulates or goes completely straight-laced and orgainised.

God I'm giving us kids a real bad name!

no i don't .. well not in all cases anyway .. an example is me .. i do everything the complete opposite to what my mum does.. and it has always been that way ..
But the whole process of primary socialization would suggest that for a good few years, kids will reflect parents behavior.. especially with manners.. parents have tought their kids these things so they are not necessarily just 'copying'
So i agree to a certain extent.

Yes, children develop based on 3 things. Free will, heridity, and enviroment...and enviormetn and heridity both have to do with their parents so i do believeparents play a large roll in how the child behaves, monkey see monkey do haha.

Its one of those "Do as I say Not as I do" type things.
If the parents constantly tell there kids not to do something of course they turn around and do it. Learn to pick your battles and the kids will be fine. I have told everyone I know If they are not hurting themselves or others leave them alone.

definately, but there are some cases in which the parents have done drugs, or been to jail, and it causes a bad life for the child, thus the child behaves totally opposite of their parents

Of course children mimic their parents thats why it is paramount to know how we behave in front of our children and what kind of role models we are for them.
