I remember seeing a lever or some sort in a home goods catalog that allows the user to lift up a corner of the heavy furniture enough to slide a wheel or dolly underneath. I do not recall the name of the catalog or the name of the lever. It was akin to something that would have been seen on TV before. Anyone know?

I have a bad back and cant tip the items aside. I get about 40 catalogs and seen the lever there, but i throw them out. I saw it in the catalog last year and the lever would help me out very much while trying to move this furniture... I looked up Brylane, Walter Drake, Get Organized and Taylor Gifts, i cant find it.

There is a set of sliders that make furniture moving easy. One side of the slider is a slippery hard plastic that goes down on the floor. The other side is a foam rubber part that the foot of the furniture goes into. It comes with a set of 4 big ones and 4 little ones. They are very flat pieces so you can usually put the slide against a foot, tip the piece up a fraction of an inch and kick the slider under that foot. After you have all 4 in place it will slide into place. When it is there tip each corner up and kick the slide out from under it.
Since you are just tipping a little you don't need a big lift up. If you do want a bigger lift you can make a lever with a long stick leaning on a short stick that is close to a furniture foot. Get it in place and step down on the long end. Leverage wins for you there.

I don't know about the lever, but I have always tipped the side of the furniture up just enough to slide a scatter rug underneath it. It's quiet a feat if you're doing it alone. If you can get someone to help you, that would be best. I put a scatter rug under the furniture and gently slide it across the floor. It does save the old back and you don't have to lift the item as high as you would when using a dolly.

they sell these straps to lift stuff that is heavy. check the as seen on tv website!

They carried those in either Home Depot or Lowes and probably still do.
