We left 4 years ago for a vacation, and never returned. We have a home now in a neighboring state, but I am lonely and I want to go home.

tell him how you feel. Let him know that you miss your family and friends and that you'd really like your daughter to get to know those people too. Maybe once he knows exactly how lonely and sad you are he will relent and allow you to move home.

So you left for vacation and never went back...what happened to all of your possessions and your prior residence? Unless there is something you or he is running from, I find it hard to believe you didn't know you were moving, or that there was not a valid reason....like a job, maybe? Find a play group or get a part-time job so you can make some friends and be less lonely. I can only assume you are a SAHM, so if he is the only form of income, you need to go where he is.

You discuss it with him and make a mutual decision based on what's best for both of you. If he can make more money and likes his job where he is at, you should support him. It's hard to find a good job that you enjoy.

If he hates his job, then he might be willing to move back.
