The 1963 SCOTUS decision taking prayer out of the public schools (along with the subsequent decision to take the 10 Commandments out). Once that was done, there was an increasing deisregard for the morals and traditions that we had held in this country since its formation. We see the results of this in the ever increasing crime rate, the general disregard for decency and civility, the increase in crimes against persons.

Watergate (1972) really changed the way we view all politicans. And I believe that Jimmy Carter voting to cancel tax help for people in institutes contributed a lot to the homeless now.
