Is there anything I can do to protect my family, what I should do as an individual, and what do you think the next attack will be?

Thanks for the brilliant question. People NEED this information and those who say this is tinfoil thinking, think again. There is nothing wrong in being prepared, it is only common sense. Is it not worth the lives of your families to do this? I would LOVE to be laughed at in future years for being so silly, but I think that risk is worth taking... "just in case".

As an individual and to protect your family, you shold be alert to your surroundings, alert to what's going on in you job, and in your neighborhood. Isn't that how the last batch of terrorists got caught?

I don't know when or where the next attack will be, but I have refused since 9/1 to live my life in fear. If something looks wrong, I'd hop on the phone and let the police check it out, but other than that, I don't think there is much you can do.

I feel that the next terror attack will be a dirty bomb, not a nuclear weapon, and although the effects would be relatively long lasting, I wouldn't expect a lot of deaths from that, even in the long run. To protect against that, we have to design and implement a bettr method of screening all the containers that come into the country.

The people looking to the immigrants crossing the southern border are, in my opinion, looking in the wrong place.

Every day millions of containers cross our borders, and could easily conceal nuclear materials, as well as biological materials, and very few of theose containers are thoroughly inspected. The gripe that inspecting every container will disappear after thye first attack with materials that came in that way. And if it costs a lot of money, let Walmart pay for it. Or maybe we should make more things here.

The first poster is right. In addition I would just get prepared by getting together supplies and food to last for a year or so for your family. That way if you are unable to get to the store, you won't starve to death. With the food, when you have a large supply of food, make sure that you rotate it out, with your current supply- otherwise your food will go bad. Also get a 72 hour kit together for each member of your family (supplies to get you through 3 days). A 72 hour kit needs to be easily moved and carried. This is good in case you have to evacuate your home quickly for whatever reason- flood, fire etc... Keep all your important documents handy- Birth certificate, SS cards, Insurance Policies, Wills Etc.....

I have found that Having food storage helps with other things, like if you loose a job or something. It is just a good idea to not have to rely on others in time of crisis.

There is nothing you can do to prepare for the next terrorist attack. Odds are it won't be using aircraft, but who knows. It could be a chemical or nuclear attack, it might not.

Live each day as if it were your last. Kiss your kids goodbye when you leave for work, hug them and tell them you love them when you get home. Nothing else you can do.

"the only thing we have to fear ; is, fear itself", F.D.R.... as an individual the best thing you can do is stop taking to heart this constant drumbeat that they're coming to get you. other cultures and societies are dealing with the potential of terror much better than we are. we're either running around crying like scared rabbits or thumpin' our chest saying how tough we are and we'll use our shotguns to fight em. both of these extremes are stupid.

if and when, they strike again we will likely be unprepared. they will cause problems and we will deal with the consequences. with a bit of determination, we will recover.

the one thing you should fear is that the next attack creates such a panic in the population, that our leaders overreact and do something even more stupid than our current adventure in Iraq.

Buy some guns and lots of ammunition . Prepare by building a shelter you can defend against you neighbor who is ill prepared and be ready to kill him to stay alive .
Stockpile 2 years of food and water and some good books to read .
I recommend Bill O'riellys books , transcripts from the Rush Limbaugh show and for special occasions you should have a laptop with Hannity and Colmes shows stored to replay for the kids .
