Wait a minute: what is really your question? I mean, "everyone" likes ice cream, so you are in effect saying that if a dog eats ice cream you shouldn't eat it? Even if there are "bad" people voting for the Republican party, that doesn't make the Republican party bad. After all, socialists and communists vote for the Democratic party.
You need to weigh the candidates and the issues, not focus on some group you do not agree with that votes for the Party.

In 1942 24 year-old Byrd joined the Ku Klux Klan, which he had seen holding parades in Matoaka, West Virginia, as a child. Byrd was unanimously elected to be the leader, known as the Exalted Cyclops, of his local chapter.
