Foot binding is not a traditon in the U.S. It is a tradition in China.

In the U.S. it would be a fetish or a bit of sex play.

Corsets and girdles once bound women (and some men) so tightly about the waist, for purposes of fashion, that bone structure and even internal organs were damaged. This occurred right up to the early 20th century.
