I used the Mirena IUD and was due to have it changed this January but got pregnant in November (found out in December at 5 weeks). Since an ultrasound confirmed it was still in place, my doctor thinks it was too close to the expiration date and the hormones that are emitted weren't strong enough to prevent pregnancy. Yours may still be working for now, but there's no way of telling when it will stop. I'd recommend changing it now if you're not planning on getting pregnant in the near future.

of path it is purely an estimation, and one that errs way on the area of warning. nutrition that spoils will in many cases be ok for a whilst after the expiration date. interior the days in the past expiration dates, human beings used their very own judgement (sight and scent) to be certain no rely if nutrition became into superb to eat or not. And non-perishable nutrition (dried/tinned nutrition) will stay in superb condition for human intake indefinitely - it ought to not be too tasty 5 or ten years after the expiration date, even though it is on no account going to kill you to purpose it. (contained in relation to tinned nutrition, nevertheless, beware for tins that are rusty or dented in any way. The contents won't be intact.) the biggest snort became into seeing expiration dates on jars of honey. Honey is between the least perishable meals in life, jars of it have been latest in Egyptian tombs that have been nonetheless risk-free to eat.

possible, but its best to get it changed. If you get preganat with an iud the risk of miscarrage is high.
