I had Braxton-Hicks contractions, but I went into labor the day before my due date, so sudden it was unreal! My water never broke, they had to break it at the hospital! At 6 am I went to the hospital and 3 pm on the dot my baby boy was here! Nothing in the days prior, I thought I was going to have to get a C-section! It'll hit you when you least expect it, especially if this is the first. You'll probably get menstrual-like cramps (I did!) but probably brush them off. Next thing you know, you'll be doubled over in pain! Don't rush it, ENJOY the days you have as a woman without child, and CHERISH the days you have as a mom! You'll be one for the rest of your life!

I went into labor naturally 3 days before my due date. I had the regular braxton hicks for weeks, but no slow, gradual earlylabor. I woke up with contractions 5 min apart, water broke at home before we left for the hospital, and my son was born 9 hrs later.

Look online for ways to stimulate labor. Nipple stimulation worked for me, some wonem use raspberry leaf tea, I have even heard that castor oil can work!

And sex, LOTS of sex!! Good luck!

I have heard all kinds of stories on how to get labor going. from having sex (stimulates natural pitocin), riding a horse, going for long walks.

Most women will get a very strong "nesting urge" just before the baby comes. In other words, do you feel like washing all the baby's clothes, cleaning the nursery from top to bottom, getting your house **** and span?

Who knows maybe the baby is waiting for all the relatives to be there for his/her birth.

Well, my mom decided to rearrange her living room when she was pregnant w/ me and that put her in labor. I wouldn't reccommend doing that tho' b/c you could really hurt yourself! I did the castor oil thing w/ my 2nd, but I don't recommend that either b/c the stuff is truly disgusting! Altho', it worked for my sister, so I guess it's up to you. You only need a teaspoon of the stuff. Yuck! Start walking. That's the healthiest thing to do. Plus it makes labor a lot easier! I know, you're really uncomfortable right now, but it may help! It gets your blood flowing and who knows? It may get enough blood pumping to start your contractions!

I'm sure it'll happen soon! I felt uncomfortable one morning..and was spotting. I called my dr. who said that it was just a sign of dialation. He told me to come in for a check up..I was 5cm. but didnt feel contractions. He gave me pitocin and I delivered 3 hours later. It happened so quickly!

Good luck...& best wishes!
