the previous answer is right. In situations the place the wear and tear has been in place for a whilst such as you have, dig out the broken section eliminating the ineffective grass. Flush the soil with a lot of water to dilute the excess nitrogen. Then reseed or resod the spot. although if the section is cutting-edge, interior of a few days, an intensive flushing could head off any injury, and in the past long the grass will strengthen back as stable as new. purely in case you will like a grass the canine are much less probably to break. Dr. Steve Thompson says "Of the 4 grasses examined, Festuca sp. var. Kentucky 31 (fescue) and Lolium perrene (perennial ryegrass) have been the main proof against urine consequences. in actuality, the urine mechanically produced a fertilizer effect on those grasses at diluted concentrations. Poa pratensis (Kentucky bluegrass) and Cynodon sp. var. Fairway (bermuda grass) have been very soft to any urine concentration and extreme burns resulted, persisting extra beneficial than 30 days after preliminary exposure to even 4 oz. of diluted urine. Even on the main urine resistant grass examined (fescue) urine concentration became right into a much bigger situation than urine quantity. focused urine with volumes as low as 30cc (one ounce) brought about backyard burn even on fescue grasses."

Time to replant. Dig up the affected area and hose down well. Add some new dirt and plant seed. Larger pet stores now have a product that goes in dogs food to nutrilize the effects of urine on grass.

We had that problem , we dug up the affected grass and about 3-6 inches of the dirt under it, then refilled it with grass and dirt from edging on our sidewalk. Then patted it down, and it actually seemed to work. I think we may have thrown some grass seed along with it.

Rake it til all the dead grass is up. Throw down some clean dirt and let it go. The existing grass will fill in the new dirt within about 3 weeks.
