Nothing has been proven better. Even with all its flaws and problems democracy is still better than any other form of government man has devised to govern himself.

Well, a republic -- which has many elements of a democracy, but keeps the government from interfering with its citizens' rights or lives any more than is absolutely necessary. Also, a true republic doesn't let a very small majority hijack the ruling system in the name of what's good for everyone, as is very possible in a true democracy, which Thomas Jefferson described as "a mob rule, in which 51 percent of the voters may take away the rights of the other 49 percent." It accomplishes this by mandating a so-called "super-majority," or about 2/3 of the voting population. It's not nearly as efficient in some ways, but in most cases that's a good thing -- and in those situations where it isn't, certain powers are often held in reserve for emergency use.
The United States was set up as a sort of combination of the two, in which the government would be so tied up by itself that it wouldn't be capable of interfering in the lives of its citizens unless there was desperate need for such. Our government in turn was based strongly off of that of the ancient Roman Republic and Greek forms of democracy, with the result of the most free people in the world to date.

Well, yes, a Republican. (I am not referring to the Republican Party with the elephants, but the type of Government.) A true democracy has only existed at the village level. American Indians were much more democratic than their white counterparts. In modern societies with all their complex issues, a democracy will not work. Therefore, we elect people to represent us, people who can contact experts in different fields and thus get a better understanding of issues than we ordinary folks can get. These representatives are a Republican form of Government, so they are more effective than a Democracy.

Sure. Communism in theory. Everyone gets a even share of the pie. Too bad it will never work that way.

A benevolent dictatorship is always better because more gets done at practically no cost of bureaucracy. However, one man's benevolent dictatorship is another's oppressive regime - and of course you have to find a dictator who is benevolent at all.
