I'm starting this little group with some of my friends. just like the midnight society from are you afraid of the dark. I have everything setup, but I need a type of dust that changes the color of the flames for when we start the stories? it has to be something cheap, safe and can be bought at ace hardware.

you can buy rainbow flame crystals, by rutland. we use it, and it works great. you can use it in fireplaces, woodstoves and campfires. just 1 scoop full and you have great color, add 2 or 3 scoop fulls and get more color. it's only $3.00 at home depot, menards, etc, and 1 container lasts a long time, and really does make rainbow colors in the fire.

You can purchase pine cones with a coating that burns different colors at a fireplace shop. The coating is iron filings.

Cedar wood or a few pieces of copper pipe will alter the flame colors

burn pine cones...or logs that have been soaking in aqueous solutions...that will change the color...and it is super cheap...
