If the wheel bearing is bad enough, yes, the wheel will fall off, however, the wheel bearing has to be making a sound for at least 2 years in order for it to get that bad. Don't worry, drive it. Once you get the bearing replaced, your steering and even your gas mileage will be better, so you don't want to put it off.

well, it is not a good thing to do for this reason, you most likely wont loose your breaks however the wheel may freeze up and cease to turn. causing a accident. for this reason, that wheel bearing contains steel rollers bearings, Packed in grease. they may contain ball bearings packed in grease. one of the 2.if those bearing get out of round they will not turn as they are meant to so they have no other option other than to lock up. then your wheel stops turning and you have a accident. get it fixed. you can do it yourself. it's not that hard depending on make of your car. i drove mine with bad wheel bearing for a good while however i was scared to death to do so. like you i had to get to work. be careful if you must drive. no high speeds not above 50 mph

Most rear wheel bearings on FWD cars have bearings that run directly on the shaft. If the shaft is not already damaged it will be. I suggest you make alternative arrangements.

Depends. Is it grinding yet? Can you hear it, is it loud? If you can hear it, its best not to chance it. If its just starting to go (its harder to physically turn the wheel with your hands when the car is on the hoist) then it should be okay.
Better safe than sorry. If it seizes, you're losing a wheel. And depending how fast you're going.....those babies can fly.. it will be disastrous.

If you like driving a car with only 3 wheels...go ahead.

Pending on how bad the grinding is, if it is loud your wheel will fall off, if not chance it.

If it jams it will be a mess. Take it easy!! Wear seat belt. Stay in right lane.

Drive slowly and carefully for a couple of days.
Why do they have to order it?
