what's with all the rainbows in the background of most of the scenes? Not always a rainbow per se, but rainbow colors.

The way they were in the shots looked like they were trying to make a statement. In the living room shots, you could see a couple rainbow circles, hanging on the right side of the spider web window. Then in the kitchen scene, above the sink there were some old lunch boxes painted in bright colors. If you look close, you can see something in the background of almost every shot. BTW, What's the rainbow coalition? Thanks to all who contributed here.

Interesting. I don't remember but in between segments they played with visuals like that and planets. Rainbow colors? A sign reflecting space and beyond? I don't know. I believe it all fit into the theme of the show.

It was just in conjunction with the show-the crazy theme of aliens living on earth. I mean, the leader of the aliens was the Big Giant Head! Someone had to be high somewhere.

Because most of the cast on the show were gay, hence rainbow coalition.
