We've been hearing this rumor that Cher is doing Vegas at Caesars Palace in 2008 for a million years!!!!!!!! We still do not have a confirmation or denial of this rumor. I don't understand that. Can someone please explain to me why they will not confirm or deny it right now? Why is Caesars Palace making Cher's fans suffer so much from this huge suspense that has been going on almost as long as Cher's farewell tour went? What exactly is involved in negotiations that takes this long to make things final or for sure? Before you know it, it will be 2008 and I hear it will be early 2008 when she starts so doesn't she need to start rehearsing in 2007? I do not understand what the problem is or why the rumor is so secretive! Cher should know by now how many times fans have been talking about it so isn't it only fair to everyone that we know right now what's going on? I hear that shes in the final stage of negotiation. What does that mean? I want very badly to know what's going on.

I am already aware that Bette is doing Vegas so pls don't give me info on stuff I already know since that isn't my question. That's the thing I'm troubled with, why they won't say whether Cher will fill in when Elton and Bette are not doing Vegas at certain times.

Right now, everything is probably "written in pencil" - to quote Jon Bon Jovi. If the contracts have not been signed in blood yet, they are legally not allowed to make any announcements one way or another. When all the details are worked out, the i's are dotted, and the t's are crossed, then you'll know for sure.
"Final negotiations" can take weeks or months to iron everything out. Especially if they're any question about venue or dates or how long a commitment is requested.

Bette Midler will do about a 100 shows a year at Caesars starting in February , 2008 . Elton John will fill in as he has with Celine . Cher is rumored to be the third spoke in the wheel , but it is a done deal with Bette Midler .

actually, rude little boy, it IS your question.. They probably dont have a SPECIFIC date for Cher because she is not the main show. she is a fill in. and they probably don't have the dates set up for her to be a fill in, IF they need her. I mean honestly... how cheap would the tickets have to be to run Cher every night? atleast there would always be open seats.

As far as I know, Caesar's Palace is having Bette Midler as Celine Dion's replacement in 2008. She's already signed a contract for two years...
