No, just because you are from the South doesn't make you a redneck. As Jeff Foxworthy once said, there are rednecks EVERYWHERE!!! In fact, I'm from Delaware which is in the mid-Atlantic, but is often categorized as a southern state and I'm liberal and I don't think that at all. I've traveled the south and there are so many beautiful places and the people are so nice. Honestly, we don't ALL think that.

What I do find odd however is the fact that you are conservative and work for the government. I too work for state government and around these parts we're probably about 95% Democrat just BECAUSE of what we are exposed to and what we know. Delaware is a Blue state, bu that is only because of the northern part. The southern 2 counties are red, but the state workers even there are still predominantly dems. Funny.

They have been referred to as rednecks via fact they worked in the solar. They have been thick and nevertheless are. Their necks have been redder in the south on condition that's sunnier there. there are particularly some thick people in the North. Sarah Palin. The trees. The Tea social gathering. Republicans. this is in basic terms that their necks are not as crimson.

If you're so smart why do you, like so many others, address all liberals as if you're speaking to one person? I consider myself to be a liberal, but I would never presume to speak for any but myself. Do you speak for all conservatives, or all southerners? I don't think all people from the south are uneducated rednecks. I do think that uneducated rednecks (wherever they're from) are more likely than the educated to wield a disproportionate share of power because they're less likely to think of the responsibility that's supposed to come with it. Nice resume. Good for you.

Why do you care what they think? Those who are putting you down because you are from the south are just showing their ignorance, do yourself a favor and don't bother explaining who you are to them... They are just a bunch of low lifes on a computer trying to be somebody, that's all they have. You know who you are and that's all that matters.

My husband is from the south and he is Extremely smart!!! Oh and he is a Redneck...

I'm a liberal, I live in the south, and like you, I am educated. So no, I do not believe that. I tend to judge people on an individual basis as opposed to geographic location, party affiliation, or other stereotypes.

I am all of the above, except I live in the 8th largest city and I work in private enterprise! I am also married to the same man for almost 20 years and I am a liberal!

Not at all. But you have to admit, what we see in the media definitely portrays you as. We are smart enough, however, to not believe everything we see or hear. Bernie Mac once said "I don't believe s**t until s**t happens", which is kind of how we feel. Until things are proven, we cannot make a conscious decision about things.

No.

There are liberals in the south too... Is this a serious question?

p.s.-private school doesn't mean anything, private schools can be for "troubled" kids and special ed. it doesn't make you better than anyone else, FYI

Yes you are to stupid to support yourself and instead rely on government handouts .
You may have to put in forty or so hours each week behind a desk but you are still a burden on people who actually work and pay your way .
I am sure if asked by the working people who pay your way should you remain employed at your current job most of us would say no . I would rather have the 2 cents and if we did this with enough government workers we might be able to afford insurance health care and a retirement .
To bad we pony it all up to idiots like you .

By the way Huston bites .

Congratulation for doing so well. Not everyone is so fortunate. I don't believe all liberals think all Southerners are rednecks. I believe it is more like Forrest Gump (a Southern boy) might have said "A redneck is as a redneck says and does".
