I know this is the third question but I promise its the last one, Im 17 weeks with my first and havent had any movement, I have my monthly check up in a week and i am just paranoid, I had a lot of bleeding in the beginning so Im nervous. I have no symptoms of pregnancy, and I mean none besides a mini-bump, it has progressivly gotten bigger and I havent bled in 3 months. This is morbid, but there's no way the baby could have died inside me is there??? i wish I felt SOMETHING. Any advice??

Have they not listened to the baby's heart beat at your doctor appointments? They should be listening at every visit. Are you scheduled for an ultrasound yet? You should be having one around 18-20 weeks.

It is not unusual to not feel the baby at 17 weeks. Usually 16 weeks is about the earliest point for most first time moms, but it is more like 20 weeks by the time you are sure about what you're feeling.

You're right, you are being paranoid, and it's normal to feel that way until you have felt the baby and you're "sure" that everything is ok.

have you been going to your monthly OBGYN appts?
have they been hearing the heartbeat??
if you had a miscarriage .. you would have passed the baby and known it.
17 weeks is still early to be feeling kicks .. I didn't feel any kicks until around 18 weeks and not strong kicks until 20 weeks. And my doctor said don't start doing "kick counts" until 24 weeks because the kicks will still be very sporatic.
If you have felt the baby kick before, drink some orange juice and lay on your back very still .. and you should feel some kicks.
(or some hot chocolate!)
if your bump is getting bigger .. that means the baby is still growing!!! if the baby wasn't alive ... your uterus wouldn't be growing.
I bled at 15 weeks (bright red blood) and went to the ER and the ultrasound showed I had a low lying placenta. That moved up at 18 weeks and I am now walking around with a very healthy, very active baby boy! (32 weeks pregnant).
I don't think you have anything to worry about .. but if you are extremely stessed, go to the ER and go to Labor and Delivery and they will put you on a monitor to hear the baby's heartbeat .. women do that ALL the time!
good luck! God bless!

Honey, dont worry! If you miscarried you would know it! I will be 17 weeks weds. and havent felt any baby movement. Other than the positive test, I wouldnt think I was pregnant. Im sure your baby is fine and some people dont start to feel baby move until about 20 weeks. On the plus side not having "baby" symptoms might not be so bad. They will horrible with my first...headaches, "all day ickness", little aches and pains, ETC.. Be happy you are having an easy pregnancy and relax babys fine.

Calm down. Stress wont do you any good. At this stage its normal to not feel pregnant as all the yucky symptoms of the first trimester have gone away for most people, yet the baby is still too small to feel moving.
If you find yourself panicking like this a lot it may be wise for you to buy a home doppler so you can listen for a heartbeat to calm yourself down (although it may be tricky to find at 17 weeks), chances are you'd know if something was wrong, there'd be some symptom. You only have a week to wait for your next apt, just try and find something to occupy your mind.

And btw, dont expect to feel anything until your apx 20 weeks gone (or even later)!

Good luck

It's normal not to feel any movement at 17 weeks. Especially if this is your first. You may not for a couple more weeks. The best advice you can take is to stay calm and try not to get stressed out. If you have no bleeding now, and no pain, there isn't much to be concerned about. Just stay calm. The more you stress yourself out, the more you are putting stress on the baby. Call your doctor if any bleeding or pain occurs.

I wish you the best.

First of all, calm down. Sometimes, more often than not, it can take up to the 20th week to feel any movement. And when you do, it will feel more like a butterfly is in your stomach than a child. If you are indeed getting bigger, then I wouldn't worry too much. Your doctor will probably do an ultrasound soon, and you will be more able to understand your baby and how it is developing. If it makes you feel better, go to Walmart and pick up one of those devices that allow you to hear your baby's heartbeat. It will be in the baby section.

You are fine just calm down, you made it through the first trimester which is always the hardest and it sounds like your baby is a little fighter since you have already had a bumpy road. Rememmber most first time moms don't feel too much movemement until your in your tewnty fifth or soo week. I am too expecting my first and I am twenty three weeks and barley feel anything, the only thing reminding me that I am pregnant is my bump! You are fine and just stay calm because when your relaxed your baby is too.

it is possible.. sorry because thats horrible.

i hope everything is ok... think positive because until you know for sure you dont want to risk undue stress.

this recently happened to someone i know and also happened to my mom before she had me. my mom really took it hard and my dad had to recover the fetus to allow the doctors to determine a cause...

it was really hard for my parents

hopefully you have people around that can walk with you through your pregnancy... most guys need to be there before we really respect the whole process but im really pulling for you and your child.

maybe nothing is wrong and its absolutely normal to worry... for the first year of my kids' lives i checked on them as much as every 15 minutes all through the night to make sure they were breathing and looked healthy and all... my gf's family sometimes stays with us and i somtimes wake up like 50x with the urge to go check... sometimes the babies will even sleep with me.

i actually check on my daughter all through the night, usually once every 4 hrs at the most since the girl was abducted and murdered from her own home. i even get a little nervous and have trouble sleeping when her friends stay over and i cant go barging in anymore....

everyone who reads this can you please say a prayer for this mother and child

miracles happen even when it seems like all hope is lost.

some woman do not feel any movements until around the 18th week, I believe some even slightly longer. I do understand you having fear about your pregnancy, with my son I didn't feel pregnant most of the time, I but he was completely healthy. If you are stressing over it this badly, go to a Dr.
