There's clear plastic sheeting that can be purchased at fabric stores which can be ironed onto fabric (can't remember brand names right now, but they'll know what you want).

You could also just use clear Contact paper, or even adhesive-backed laminating sheets from an office supply store, but think the fabric store stuff may be washable as well as more supple.

this is not exactly laminating but it does create an interesting if a bit stiff fabric that is reversible and good for beach bags and no sew place mats. Get the heaviest wt of fusible webbing and sandwich it in between two fabrics right side out. Press following manufacture directions. As I say you can cut out no sew projects since the edges will not fray. You can stitch through it but use a denim needle to do so. Think of it as a reversible vinyl fabric. As a easy kid craft simply use a pinking shears or wavy cutting blade in a rotary cutter to make wipe-able reversible place-mats.
