ok.......if there are 45 quarts and that equals 180 gallons, 23 half gallons can't equal a gallon right? So if it asks "how many gallons is that?" and there are 45 quarts = 180 gallons and 23 half-gallons the answer would be 180 gallons and then for the 23 half gallons would you add 2 half gallons and keep doing it until you finish the 23? *confuzzled*

One quart is 1/4 of a gallon, so 45 quarts can only be 11 1/4 gallons.

A half gallon is, of course, 1/2 of a gallon, so 45 quarts would be 22 1/2 half gallons (22 gallons plus 1 quart, which is 1/2 of a half gallon).

you have to start with the correct stats. 1 gallon = 4 quarts

divide the number of quarts by 4 to get the number of gallons.

a half gallon = 2 quarts.

I think you are the confused one, but hang in there.

45 quarts = 11 gallons and 1 quart left over.

ANSWER: 20 SOLUTION: 1 qt = 32 oz 1 gal = 128 oz so when you mix your juice and water, you get 160 oz of drink now how many 8 oz servings is that: 160 / 8 = 20 JUST REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING CONVERSIONS: Ounce One fluid ounce = 1/8 of a half-pint = 1/16 of a pint = 1/32 of a quart = 1/128 of a gallon. Pint There are two half-pints = 16 ounces in a pint. There are 2 pints in a quart and 8 pints in a gallon. Quart There are 4 half-pints = 2 pints = 32 ounces in a quart. There are 4 quarts in a gallon. Gallon There are 128 ounces = 8 pints = 4 quarts in a gallon GOOD LUCK!!!

1 quart = ¼ gal, so 4 quarts = 1 gal
2 quarts = 2 x (¼ gal) = (2)(¼) gal = ½ gal

45 quarts = 45 quarts / (4 quarts/gal) = (45/4) gal = 11 ¼ gal, not 180 gallons.

23 half-gallons = 23 x 2 quarts = 46 quarts / (4 quarts/gal) = (46/4) gal = 11 ½ gal
