actually, the left claims that we brought Al Queada to Iraq, that Al Queada is only responsible for a small portion of the violence, and that you're mentally deficient for asking this question so dishonestly

The left does not make that claim. They know that Al Queda is now in Iraq, they're just a little pissed off that they weren't there from the beginning and have made themselves at home only since we invaded Iraq. Now we have to fight Al Queda on more fronts than if we had stuck to dealing with the Afghanistan problem as we should have. Hussein was a monster, but he hated Al Queda and they never did much but give him fits around the Western border. But after we invaded, they had easy access to Iraq and now there they are. Good job Bush, huh? Most leftists acknowledge the presence of Al Queda in Iraq, they just don't agree with the right on what to do about it.

bereal?

I read the comment your link led to. Pelosi did not say Al-Queda wasn't in Iraq, she said that Bush continues to blame all the violence on Al Queda and not on the insurgents. She is right, he does that on a regular basis. Though he admits that 9/11 had NOTHING to do with Iraq, he and Cheney still take every chance they get to put the words "9/11" and "Al Queda" in the same sentence. That way they get to still connect them in people's minds so the wheat doesn't get get separated from the chaff. It's a game they play that most of us are very aware of now. She knows Al Queda is in Iraq, she also knows all the violence cannot be blamed on them. I, for one, appreciate reality and that is reality.

I have heard NO ONE on the left claim that Al Qaeda is not in Iraq. They weren't there when Saddam was in power, at least not in any number to amount to anything. It was only AFTER the invasion that they came pouring into Iraq recruiting members as they advanced. So, of course they are there now and up to no good.

Actually, I think they claim Al Queda wasn't in Iraq until we went into Iraq.

Of course, they deny Saddam supported terrorists and had some living in Iraq with him before we invaded.

He was a swell guy and George is just a war monger.

The left claims that they were not in Iraq before the war. They dont claim that they are not there now.

The lefts' argument is that because the politics of Saddam was different than the politics of A.Q., Saddam would not have allowed them in the country. But since Saddam is gone, and we dont have total control of the country, A.Q. is now there.

Basically there is no direct evidence either way on the situation before the war, at least not any that Rep or Dems have shown the public.

This blanket classification of "the left" is very annoying and accomplishes nothing but generate more generalizations. I've never heard anyone deny that Al Quaid is in Iraq, so you obviously are hearing faulty information and need to check your sources. II've been called a "leftist" before on many occasions, but I've never denied the obvious glaring truth about the reality of a situation. To use sweeping generalizations is foolish and counterproductive to your cause, whatever that may be.

the "left" says.. Al Queda was Not in Iraq during the rule of Saddam. Saddam didn't like Al Queda, he saw them as a threat to his power.

We all know that Al Queda is in Iraq now. ( thanks to bush )

al queda didn't use to be there in iraq. Sadam's ba'se party was in conflict w/ them. but bush invited them over there . bush also helped more moslems to become a member of Al Queda or in other words strengthen them. they were not popular at all as they are now

They will deny saying there are no al qaeda in Iraq......
Pelosi, herself said it..

Or they will say "al qaeda wasn't there before Bush went in"

In June 2002, U.S. officials say intelligence had revealed that Zarqawi and members of al-Qaeda had set up a weapons lab at Kirma, in northern Iraq, producing deadly ricin and cyanide.al-Zarqawi would not have been able to set up the lab without approval from Saddam. So now MSNBC admits that Iraq had a WMD program all along.
