I have a theory on this. In addition to the thought maybe that smaller cars will be overall more efficient on fuel, my theory is this: Who buys hybrid cars? Liberals, right? Well liberals seem to care more about people SEEING them doing good things for the environment than satisfaction from the act itself. With cars that look like this, liberals can be driving the whole time screaming... IM HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT without saying a word. It's the liberal bird call.

It's all about style and image, right? forget about the price of fuel, right ?. now we have an image war going on. Everyone already knows about the image and the cars and the clothes and the money. Can we get beyond that?. they might look cost officiant and they sure do look pretty to my pocket.

well they do have to be smaller for now.i think they wanted to look a bit different for the recognition, but really missed the boat. hybrids arent the save all like they first claimed, hopefully they ll get better and hell, maybe someday ill buy one.
s7 , you re believing the hype of the current hybrids. the cost to buy one doesnt outweight the gas savings yet. plus the ni-cad batteries pollute the envirement worse than anything to make. read up on it, you ll be surprised.

Theyre designed to maximize the amount of interior space so that you get the most space for your dollar.
Sports cars by nature are the opposite-they utilize space poorly so that they can sit lower and handle better (necessary for the speed).
Its function over fashion.

The new honda civics are nice, I am 6 foot and I have plenty of room. I don't have the seat all the way back either. Should be plenty of room unless they like to lay back in the seat to "look cool"

lol, this is one of the most intelligent questions I've seen all day, lol.
Um, I reckon that the car companies thought it would bring in customers if they made their cars look all retro.

It is all about marketing...do you fit the demographics of someone who would want to purchase one? Probably not, therefore, you are not their target market...
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyways...maybe they are beautiful to those who want to buy one!
