Limewire or the others listed above are legal programs, but it is still ILLEGAL to download copyrighted music, regardless of the program unless you PAY.

Unforunately, since you purchased an Ipod it is not compatable with what I use is the Yahoo Music Unlimited, and I think you have to use ITunes, but I'm not positive.

If you bought a different brand of mp3 player and just calling it an Ipod like alot of people do then let me know the brand and I'll try to help. If you did buy an Ipod I think Itunes is your only legal choice.

As far as im aware of, there are special made software designed for downloading mp3 etc that are 100% legal. There are a few around such as limewire, bearshear and winmx.. but i would suggest using Ares Galaxy - One of easiest to use and fast download speeds.

This is just a simple program you install to your hard-drive and search music through it

This link describes how the whole process works: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/p2ppeertopeer/Peer_to_Peer_File_Sharing_P2P_Networking.htm

And if you decide to go ahaid with this.. use this program, its easily the best by far in my opinion: http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

Hope this helps.
