Dr.'s do say to stay away from processed meats, but I know what you mean about eating Subway. I have eaten it a few times while pregnant and I have been just fine. I just put it this way, some ppl are so paranoid these days and follow every little thing they read in some magazine, but when we were born parents didn't have the same concerns and we turned out just fine, didn't we?

If you have to eat fast food its probably the best choice out there. As for Listeria do you think Subway will sell meat it hasn't tested or known to come from safe sources? You may have fish 2-3 times per week. If the fish is free of mercury (ie farm raised) then you can have it more often.

Lunch meat can have a bacteria called listeria. It is not good for the baby. But, if you can stand to have it toasted, it's better for you. It kills the bacteria. There are other good tasting foods at Subway (I had cravings for the bread toasted). Chicken teriyaki subs are good. You can also get a wrap. Just make sure the meat is cooked.

Subway is much better for you than the fried food restaurants. If you're eating the low-fat subs with lots of veggies it's actually quite healthy.

Be careful about lunch meats. Lysteria is what the concern is, but can be eliminated by heating the meat very thoroughly (not just "toasting" at subway). Ask them to microwave the meat for 30-40 seconds and you should be okay.

Don't eat any fast food, including Subway as a steady diet. You need to have a variety of foods, from all of the food groups.
Fried food isn't good for you, so it's just as well that you don't want them now. Broiled food is good, and so is baked.

It's okay to eat Subway. There's nothing wrong with it, sweetie. Eat other things too though! You need a nice balanced diet for you and your baby.
