Many blacks will hear Hillary’s remark as
follows: “I say Republicans run the House like
a plantation because I am speaking to Negroes
—the wretched of the earth, a slave people—
who will surely know all about plantations.”
...Does she really see us as she projects us—
as a people so backward that our support can
be won with a simple plantation reference and
the implication that Republicans are racist?

Yes, yes and yes.
Democrats have been using my people for years. I am ashamed to say that they used me as well, for I was a liberal Democrat in my young, immature days. Unfortunately 9/11 came along and my eyes were opened to just how phony the Democrat Party was.
Hillary disgusts me because she tries to act like she knows what it is to be a black woman in this country but she doesn't.
Lots of my people (including some idiotic, racist white liberals) dont' understand why I am a black female conservative but I wish they would open their eyes and see why Democrats DON'T deserve the majority of their votes...

Well let me say that after watching westhill's clip (I couldn't find the one from nbra) it's funny how gore can talk about the president breaking the law I guess he missed it when his boss committed perjury which is breaking the law last time I checked. But for dems like hillary comments like the plantation quote come second nature to them because they are always playing the race card to get minority votes. They know they have the black vote locked up so all they do is call the republicans racist and they get the black vote everytime therefore there is no need to give black people anything concrete after the election. To compare the white house to a plantation is belittling the hardships african americans went through under slavery and for another 100 years after slavery. I would like to point out that all those hardships came under the democratic party's control of the south. If african americans truly want to raise themselves up higher they need to embrace the republican party and participate in it and the democratic party because if the republicans are so bad the only way to change the party is to become part of it and change it from within, and also they should put all their eggs in one basket because if the dems lose then that's another 4 years to wait and if you vote 90 percent democrat and they lose should you really expect much from the republicans? Hillary will say anything to get what she wants just like her husband she doesn't really care about people she just wants power.

Democrats' hands were completely tied by the Republicans in Congress. Almost no Democratic legislation ever made it out of committee and onto the floor for a vote. No Democratic legislation was passed for over 6 years. Her comment did not criticize black people, it was entirely aimed at the Bush administration and how Congress was run under the Republicans. Here's what she said:
"Clinton ... had said Bush’s administration was “one of the worst” in U.S. history and said the House “has been run like a plantation, and you know what I’m talking about.”
She said the House “has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard.”

They will hear what remark as you have rephrased it? What's the original remark? Both of the Clintons have always been extremely supportive of African-Americans. If you don't think many Republicans are inherently racist you haven't been paying attention.
EDIT: Thank you Westhill for posting the actual comment. You are right, it was against the Bush Administration, not denigrating blacks. Funny how some people can twist anything to suit their own prejudices.

That's not what she said. What she DID say showed a lack of judgement (pandering at the least, ad hominem diatribe at worst), but you don't have it right.
Don't take this as a defense, though - I'm not supporting her... in fact I'm passionate about figuring out how to get the nomination into the hands of somebody else.
edit to Harriet - C'mon, now, *9/11* you blame on the Dems, or on ANY American?

She said, 'The White House is being run like a plantation, and you all know what I am talking about.' This was at the groundbreaking of MLK memorial.
