I really hope this doesn't offend anyone, because that is not the intention at all:
Not to sound narcisistic, but people tell me that I am pretty all the time, and I know I am an attractive woman. But I have found that white guys always feel the need to say "You're the prettiest BLACK girl I've ever seen" or "you're one of the hottest black girl ever".
Why do I have to be pretty for a "black girl"? Why can't I just be a pretty girl? What is it with white guys and the need to categorize beauty??

No offense taken. I think this is a legitimate question, and I'm a white dude.
There are several reasons I think that a white guy might say this.
1. There is a tendency for many (but of course, not all) people to mostly only be attracted to people of the same race as them. There are many, many exceptions, but the fact is that many white guys are mostly only attracted to white girls. It is not racism or their fault. It is just the way they are wired. In this case, that they find you pretty at all may be a compliment! Depends on the guy.
2. Many white guys DO find black women attractive, however, but they may be overly sensitive about the race issue. They may say this just to acknowledge that you are black, and they are aware of it. In this case, it may be a subconscious attempt to address the racial issue. They don't mean anything bad by it.
3. Some guys are just racist. They might not mean to be, but they are. What can you do about ignorant people but ignore them? It is a shame, but it is their loss, not yours.
That's my theory. I won't call it a fact. If it makes you feel better, however, I am sure a lot of white, asian, and hispanic girls say the same thing about black men. :-)

GIRL!!! Applaud yourself! I don't now how many women of African American heritage I have seen that look better than I do, and I am cute for a white lady, damn it! My daughter isn't "pretty for a mixed girl" either. She is a beautiful girl. Period.
You are beautiful for you. Period.
Maybe you should start taking it as you are a credit to your ethnicity, cuz you are smokin hot!!!
I don't think it's just white guys, either. Guys are just kinda stupid in general when they're around beautiful women. Whether they are black, white, hispanic, Asian, whatever whatever...The more beautiful a woman is, it seems the less intelligent the men become.

Not all white guys do this, but I do see your point. I wouldn't pay it too much mind. Some white guys call you the prettiest black girl because they just honestly don't find black features attractive and yours happen to be to them. Is it polite necessarily? No. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Some people just can't see past skincolor unfortunately.

Lol funny thing is i have the issue with black men. I dont deal with white men at all. but when i start talking to someone new i'm used to hearing "Oh you're the prettiest white girl i eva met or you're the thickest white girl. lol it can be annoying but i guess its just with anyone and everyone is catorgorized in one way or another

That does sound like a backhanded compliment. I'd probably ask them what they mean by that, to get them to think about what they're saying.
