Hi, My 4 month old baby girl started with a dipaer rash that has become really bad...she doesn't complain at all but you can see she has a little spot where her skin peeled off. My dr already prescribed an ointment but I wanna Know if I can do something else to get rid of it. She started drinking fruit juices like 2 weeks ago (when all this started) Thanks for your comments, I'm a new mom and I feel awful about it.

When my daughter was about that age she had diarreah really bad for a few days so everytime we would use wipe she would cry...the dr told us to not use wipes on her at all cause he could see that she was getting red and that like your daughet the skin would peel...he told us to wash her in the sink when she needed to be changed and to dab her dry with a towel and not to wipe...we did it for a few days until it was better...we continued to use wipes afterwards and she has been fine since...but i suggest using water and dabbing her dry

My daughter got a really bad diaper rash 2. The doc gave my ointment but I'm only allowed to put it on 3 times a day. So the other times that I change her I use A&D. Just keep her lubed up. Also are you sure you should be giving her fruit juice. Ever doc is different but mine said 6 months. I would double check with the doc. And then maybe put water in it so it's watered down.

I've seen a rash like that before, and it was the reason I switched to cloth diapers. Cloth diaper babies don't have rash (or leaks). If you aren't interested in cloth (even though it's really fun and way easier), then take away the juice, let your baby play naked every day, use cornstarch at every change and don't use commercial wipes. Even the sensitive skin wipes are full of harsh chemicals. There are many ways to make your own, but I just use old receiving blankets that I cut up. I rinse them off with plain water and wash the dirty ones. You could use old T shirts and just throw them away if you prefer. You can also buy a pack of cheap Gerber prefolds (available at any mega mart) and use them with diaper pins (no waterproof cover). You can go back to disposables after the rash clears if you want.

The fruit juices might be a little too early for her, first off. For the rash just do what your doctor says. Sounds like a yeast rash, which is very common so don't panick. Try letting sit with no diaper on for 10min after each change. (Dry air will help kill the rash. Moisture is what helps cause a rash.) Use the stuff your doctor gave you and it should be gone in a couple of days.
My little girl had the same thing

Best thing is to keep using the medicine the doctor gave you. You might also want to re-consider what fruit juice you're giving her. Apple juice made my son wet his diapers a lot more than other ones. Another good thing to try letting her diaper area get some air. After a changing you might want to leave the diaper off for about 15 minutes, then put the medicine on and then the diaper.

My daughter had that same rash when she was 2(now 3) and Desitin, nor any other OTC diaper rash products would clear it up! Then when we took her to the ped., he told me it was A YEAST rash, and told me to put lotrimin (yeast infection cream for women) on her rash for a week and it disappeared!!
Don't feel awful! It just happens sometimes-even when you change their diapers at first sign of soilage!

You might want to give that a try.
The way you describe her rash-peeling off skin is what my daughter had. She also had reddness all over with tiny bumps.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I would hold off on the juices, they might be too acidic for her little bottom. She can drink water, which could help her become a better water drinker in the long run. Also, you could let her go naked for awhile. Basically, the moisture and the feces on her isn't getting removed quickly enough. She needs to air out a little, and like I said, stop the juice. By the way, what juices are you using? Stay away from the citrus stuff, like orange juice. Are you diluting the juice, 50% water and 50% juice?

If the rash seems totally abrasive and if it has a beefy red complexion to it, shark liver oil or cod liver oil should be a good solution. Theycan be applied to wade off this rash.

More Measures to be taken:
-Change the diapers often or avoid diapers, if you can manage it like that
-Keep your child exposed to fresh air
-Have a diaper which fits properly giving enough air to breath
-Use water instead of using diaper wipes
-Avoid food that may cause diarrhea
-Avoid soaps or powder which may tend to cause irritation
-Keep the infected area always dry to avoid any infection
-Breastfeeding your baby helps the baby immensely
-Use a bottle to squirt water rather than rub or wipe
-Pat dry, the area instead of wiping or rubbing the area
-Let your baby's skin dry before putting on another diaper
-Completely ban the use of plastic pants

With the fruit juices try to stay away from acidy ones. When they pee it can cause one heck of a diaper rash because the acid sits in there diaper and can burn their skin. Also try changing her diaper more often. That may help. And if you can, let her go without a diaper for a while. Let it air out. Give her some tummy time and put a towl under her. Hope I could help yah. Good luck.

Don't feel awful! This has happened to all mommies...I am sure you are a great mom! Well, they only thing I could say is use what the doc gave you and dilute her fruit juice with half of purified water. When my children had diaper rashes I used Butt Paste....I forgot the brand name I think it was something like Bourduix.....

A trimester is not necessarily 3 months long. A trimester is a third of a certain period. For example, one third of a pregnancy term is a trimester, about 3 months. A school can be on a trimester system instead of a semester or quarter system, and a trimester is one third of the school year. A quarter of a year, one fourth, is three months, as in financial quarters. I don't know if there is a term for 4 months.
