For prime rib, Five Crowns in Corona Del Mar is the best! (it's run by Lawry's.)

For other steaks, I'd say Ruth Chris in Irvine is THE best. Coming in a very close second is the filet at Scott's Seafood across from South Coast Plaza.

I've been to Fleming's in Fashion Island twice found it so-so. I went with friends during New Year's Eve and thought they rushed everything out and my prime rib was bland.

Agorra Churrascaria by Main & MacArthur in Irvine is a Brazilian steakhouse where they bring out all sorts of different types of roasted meat on skewers. It's a good way to try a bunch of different things. Not the traditional steakhouse, but good nonetheless. I was pretty impressed.

Ruths Chris (a couple of locations in the area) Pacific Dining Car (Santa Monica) Lawry's is good, but not very romantic check out the Saddlepeak Lodge in Calabasas, but you will need reservations (and they book up far in advance), some of the best game good you will find, including excellent steaks stay away from the chain restaurants like Outback, Stuart Andersens, etc. but if you really want a chain style place, Hungry Hunter is usually very good

1. The Bungalow - small, cozy and a great date place in CdM.
2. Landmark - great steak, not quite as charming as Bungalow also in CdM
3. Mastro at Newport Bluffs - kinda pricey but if someone in your party also likes fish, this one's a winner
4. Mortons SoCoast Plaza
5. oddly enough, I have also heard (haven't tried this one) that French 75 in Fashion Island also does a mean steak
6. I've never been to Flemings Fashion Island but 2nd hand feedback is not so good.

There are several places in OC to enjoy a great steak. My favorite would be The Bungalow in Corona Del Mar. Mortons, Ruths Chris, and Mastros are ok but Scotts Seafood would be my second choice.

the absolute best steak house in orange county is 21 Oceanfront in Newport Beach. it has won all kinds of awards and is pricey but soo worth it. Also really good is La Cave, which is in Costa Mesa. It's underground and they usually have a band playing there. The food is amazing, they have also won alot of awards. Really good atmosphere

Ruths Chris in Irvine
oohhh my mouth is watering right now and I'm mostly a granola hippy living in Eugene Oregon now but man a Ruths Chris steak sounds sooo good.

Every thing is ala carte and bring your check book not cheap but worth every penny.
