ok so i am going to be induced next week and i am really not wanting to have to be medically induced please tell me anything you know of to help bring on labor EXCEPT castor oil i am allergic to it ! i have been trying doing a lot of walking which is leaving me very tired! please dont leave the comment of just wait it out and the baby will come because i know the baby will come i just dont want to have to wait for her to be forced to come out by a medical induction, the doctors say that at that point of this pregnancy she would be safer out than in because she could have a bowl movement in utero. please give me any answers that can be of use to me!! thank you in advance!!

What you're describing is Meconium Aspiration, and its not so common. Unless you're already past your due date or the doctors explain as to why they think you're at risk, I'd simply refuse to have it done.
Induced labor, not matter by what method, tends to also cause a more painful delivery. If you're determined;
Walking is good. Keep at that
Visualization might help (it can't hurt) by taking nice long relaxing breaths and envisioning your body opening up to give birth.
Sex is also good. Something in the man's semen ripes the cervix.
Generally its castor oil that is also recommended, but you say you're allergic.
I'd at least wait until the due date, then two weeks after. don't let the doctors bully you. You're the mom

Well you already said you are walking. That would be my first suggestion. The other is...sex. It can actually help to bring on contractions in later pregnancy. Thats what my dr recommended more than once. Im not sure I would suggest telling the dr you dont want the induction. Most infants stand the chance of having a bowel movement.....but normally that only happens once labor has begun. There could other reasons why they want to induce you. Such as pregnancy that has gone past 40 weeks....which starts to become a problem for mother AND baby. And many other medical conditions that would warrent it.

Try massaging and tugging on your nipples. It sounds funny, I know. But that kind of stimulation will trigger your uterus to contract. Do one at a time. Just do it until you feel your uterus go hard, it usually takes about 30 seconds to a minute of stimulation. Then wait and do the other one about 15 minutes to half an hour later. This is what I did, I started doing it at 8 pm, and I delivered my son at 1:30 pm the following day (I went into real labor - contractions every 4 minutes at 10 pm).

And my baby did have a bowel movement in utero, he was ok. They just have to sucky the stuff out of their mouth and nose faster.

I totally understand you not wanting to be induced. That will make for a very difficult, hard and fast labor.

Best wishes dear.

Is the only reason they are inducing you is because the baby could have a bowel movement? That is highly strange and I would ask again why they are forcing you to get an induction. I'm being induced because I'm diabetic, but that's a medical necessity....in your case I'm not sure you and seriously need to clarify it with the doctors.

Okay, no comment on the "baby will come when ready"...not sure why you are so apposed to being induced? I was 12 days overdue with my second child--and induced--she was born in less than 6 hours-it was very intense--but, no harm to her or I. If doctor is inducing due to concerns with your health and/or baby--I'd do it! :)
Congrates, and good luck!

Forgot to answer your question; I did everything to try and induce labor, nothing helped. I washed 2 vechicles (trucks), took my older daughter for a walk in her wagon, and walked and pulled--put on about 2+ miles, and even had sex that night--nothing worked..

Well I tried everything that I knew of at the time. I was induced at 9 mo and 3 weeks! I ended up Cesarean section. Is this your first child? I'm not sure you should be making yourself tired from walking- that didn't help me. Have you tried a message? If I ever have another baby I would have a midwife. Hands on natural birth.

In my case I think the baby heard the doctor say they were coming to make her come out because i was in the same case they were going to induce labor in one week, she came 2 days before the date but I will also tell you that sex made the mucus plug come out which put me in labor. I was in the last stage of pregnancy so sex was a task but somehow we did and there was something that look like a huge bugger (sorry but true). 6 hours latter we were on the way to the hospital and no waiting (my husband wanted to stop to Wendy's on the way)

You can tell your doctor that you dont want to be induced, they cant force you. However, most doctors I know would not want to induce you unless it was absolutely necessary, like if you were 2 weeks overdue which can be very dangerous to the baby. There are many myths about things that can be bring on labor, but they are just myths.

They can not induce you unless you consent. How about mineral oil and popcorn?

Babies have bowel movements in utero because they are under distress not because they are there past a certain date.
