I am just curious as to how you make money off of it and if it's just a hobby instead of a money maker.

As you have not gotten any answers yet I do not think it is a very popular hobby.
You will need to go to a website specialized in collecting money for an answer based on the peso, I am afraid, but I'll give a general answer.

Remember that collecting anything costs a lot of money before you get any out of it, if at all, and the chances of making money are small, specially when you do not know a lot about the subject.

Banknotes are rather expensive, (face value) and often lose value fast as the currency deflates, and on top of that may lose all face value when a country decides to change its currency. (The USA is exceptional in that it keeps it old banknotes in use, even when they are replaced by different sized new notes.)

So I do not think it is going to be more than an expensive hobby, unless you have the knowledge and luck only a few people have.
