Could be the time of day or the distance you are from the server or else your PC is full of files

Hi Numpty

This could be very simple - just like Windows benefits from being restarted from tiume to time so does you broadband modem/router. Switch it off (or remove the power cord) for 30 seconds and then power back on. It will take a couple of minutes for it to remake its connections but once it has it almost always results in a big speed improvement.

Hope it works for you

go to speedguide.net . On the left hand side of the screen you will see a icon that says Broadband. Click that then select Downloads/Patches. Download and run the TCP Optimizer program on that page to setup your windows for broadband. By default windows xp is setup for dialup speeds and that doesnt change just because you all the sudden install broadband.

are you using win-XP...
XP reserves 20% of bandwidth for f***** thing called quality of service.. uninstall QOS packet scheduler before doing anything else.. you can do that from property page of network connection(the page you get when u double click the lan icon, or else go to network connections from control panel..)..
.
.
.
as far as you said , it seems that there is problem with your conection.. no dsl can be slower than a modem connection..
.
.
contact the customer service..
.
.
.
and about the non UK/America-based cust support..
their accent is pretty good.. and grammar is far better than an average American...
.
.
.
I once read a news from Reuters which said that UK's PM english is poorer than INDIAN PRIME MINISTER..
.
.
no hard feelings...

talktalk is awful. I have friends and colleagues that have used this for a while and then returned to their slightly more expensive but better ISP and telephone service such as what we have (Virgin Media) or even Sky Plus, BT Yahoo is supposed to be equally good to these two.

try some of these:
try running a adware scan using ad-aware which is free, run a virus scan with an anti virus. free up hard disk space. make sure too many processes aren't running in task manager. call your provider and complain. switch to a different provider. unconnect and reconnect your modem or press the reset button.

I could say change company but you are on a one yera contract, so you are doom, the problems from my experience is that they over subscribe the pipe, instead of 50/1, I think (I dont have proof so dont quote me) they are going way above that to try to catch up with demand, Tiscali is another example company.

Call them and raise the issue, be warn, their indian accent support team can be difficult to understand, I been dealing with them on behalf of lots of my customers so much, I might have picked up the accent by now (Also Dell support). This is not a racist remark, I just dont think its fair for UK customers to pay a UK company for a product and then have to deal with non-UK support where their english is difficult to understand.

nicely u cant anticipate on the spot to run as quickly as a under pressure connection. u the two would desire to desire a sparkling router or i propose staring on the router, idk approximately on the spot because of the fact i do no longer use it, i take advantage of under pressure, so I also have a under pressure router, so seem on the on the spot router and locate the flexibility twine, unplug it and wait like 10 seconds, then plug it returned in, that's what i do to my under pressure router cuz it shuts down on me like all different day.
