sql server and the .net trainings are 2 months apart. which should i do first?

If you do it right, you'll learn both at the same time; enough of each to get you by.

Personally I would learn VB.NET first. You wil learn some of the basics of data access via SQL Server in the course. SQL Server courses will expand that base, but you can start getting familiar with the tools and data access before the SQL course.

I would learn VB first followed by Sql Server.

in case you have had no preparation on the two, then i might advise .internet/VB first...they're greater in touch and (assuming which you would be coming up information superhighway purposes) you'll want a greater useful theory of the .internet framework earlier you initiate off attempting to combine a database in with it.
