The US government has actually done a good job at tackling spam and has put laws on the books. If you'll look at the full headers of most of the spam you get, it's from countries other than the US. I get spam mostly for the UK lottery, Canadian pharmacies, and Chinese companies. If you don't recognize the sender as someone you know, don't bother opening it. Sometimes a graphic in the email will let them know your email is legitimate. Don't open them and don't respond.

Never Never give unsolicited emails your details. They are just scams to steal your money & even your id. I live in New Zealand & get these kinds of emails & I also did when I lived in Australia so they are pretty much sent to anybody in any country in the hope that someone will be stupid enough to fall for them. The old saying applies here, That if it's to good to be true then it isn't.

I have been getting them too! From the UK national lottery & Africa national lottery, etc. I have even gotten them stating I am the beneficiary of a deceased person! They are all scams. They want your personal info. to steal your identity. BEWARE!!
