We don't really know what we want to do. We would like to take our dogs, 20 and 40 lbs. We definatly don't want to travel to the western US, we are in Cincinnati and are looking to drive about 12 hours or less.

I think these are all within about a 12 hour drive:

Niagra Falls
Cabin in the Blue Ridge/Smokey Mountains
Atlanta - Great new aquarium
Nashville
Panhandle of Florida (Redneck Riviera) - Beaches
Chicago - Summer festivals at the lakeshore

Have fun on your road trip!

We recently stayed at a Holiday Inn resort in Pigeon Forge, TN that allowed pets. It was really reasonable and clean. It's also a little off the parkway (the hotel sits back a long drive and has a trolley stop so you can still catch the trolley or walk if you want). They have a really neat indoor pool with a waterfall and a hot tub. They also had a gameroom and a restaurant. it was a great place to stay. Maybe you could take your dogs there. :)

I did a search on the Holiday Inn website and found the hotel. We stayed at the first one on the list, but the others seem to accept pets too. :)

Go to chicago. I saw on the travel channel that there is a nice hotel in chicago that caters to people and their dogs, and I haven't heard of many things like that. You could probably google it or look on the travel channel website.

How about Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming? Mount Rushmore maybe? I would suggest some place like that...Yellowstone is beautiful and a great place to have animals with you. Have fun!
