Please answer>> Why should an airport be built in ANTARCTICA?

This is for an article im going for a school project. I need reasons for why an airport SHOULD be built in antarctica, not reasons against it. please answer and give your reasons

Well, there is alot of wildlife down there, and monitoring it is quite difficult. Im sure that there are not a whole bunch of people who want to go down there on vacation... however if there was to be an airport down there it would only need to be a small one. This would help when we want to go down there to observe the wildlife and make sure that everything is preserved and what our actions are doing to harm the environment. I would hope that if we did build one it would be small so that the smog from the planes does not harm the ecosystem they have down there. If it werent so could us humans would have ruined it a long time ago. Good luck.

To service the research facilities there. The Antarctic ice cap is a treasure trove of information about the earth's history over the last million years or so, as well as its current biology.

Perhaps to make it easier for scientists to get there, and to make it easier to supply them once they are there. Also for the scientists' safety, since it will be easier to airlift someone to a hospital if there is an accident.

It might also increase tourism, if it were easier to get to and from the continent. And it might open up the continent for development by making it convenient for workers to get to and from there.

1. So the jet exhaust can rain down on the ice and turn it black and cause the sun to melt it. That way we can see what's under the ice.

2. So the jet exhaust can rain down on the penguins and make them sick.

There are no positive reasons that I can think of.
