Our school plans a big event this coming summer and it has to have a South African flair! This is what the "big guys" planned. Do you have any ideas on what I can present? Anything from music to outfits would be of great help. Any ideas, in fact. I have two days to do the South African theme and the Canadian teacher has two days to do his country's theme. Can you guys help a guy out?

Yeah, know what you mean. Here in Taiwan these things are also big and parents' eyes (and their wallets) will probably be following you.
Our animals are always a winner. If you can get animal sounds from somewhere you can use it in identify the animal pic games or let them draw the animal they hear. Animal imitation games are also fun - especially when the teacher does a few imitation examples.
Making musical instruments like drums - empty can, stretch a balloon over it and play with pencil. Can also decorate the outside of their "drums".
If possible, you can throw a braai for the kids. Also tell about other food (like mopane worms etc.).
Teach them Nkosi sikelele (while playing their "drums").
