Is he good enough to be in the hall of fame someday or even be mentioned in the same breath as Jerry Rice

He is a lock for the Hall of Fame. Jerry Rice is the best ever, and Marvin is not quite there yet. Marvin is often criticized that he would not be nearly as good without Peyton Manning slinging him the ball. I would argue back that Rice had Montana and Young as his QB's. When it is all said and done, I think Marvin Harrison will be remembered as the 2nd best WR ever.

Marvelous Marvin Harrison is a sure fire Hall of Famer. He won't be mentioned in the same breath as Jerry Rice because no one will ever be as good as Jerry was. He definetly will be in the group of 5-10 guys right after Jerry Rice. Marvin is the most professional football player in the league and someone who doesn't get the respect he clearly deserves.

Marvin Harrison is the best receiver not named Jerry Rice. He produces year in and year out and now has the ring to solidify his place in Canton. If he's not a first ballot Hall of Fame selection, the voters should all be shot

He is good enough and will be in the hall of fame because of his consistency at catching the ball and running great routes. He can be mentioned in the same breath as Jerry Rice not only because he is consistent or a team leader or because of his great catches or awareness, but because he gave 110% every game and performed like it was his last. When the time comes for his retirement, he will be remembered definitely as one of the greatest of all time. Once he does retire, the Colts are going to need somebody to fill the gap that he leaves behind.

I see all these answers that say Harrison doesn't compare to Rice. Marvin and Jerry have two different specialties. Rice is incomparable after the catch. Marvin's talent is screwing someone up in his precise cuts and moves. I say Marvin is a sure lock for the HOF. He will have jsut as good stats as Rice in the end.

Not better than Rice, but definitely a Hall of Famer, he's been the best and the most consistent in the last 10 years.

Just look at the numbers:

- Most receptions in one season with 143
- 8 Pro Bowls
- 4 consecutive 100 or more receptions seasons
- After this season, he could be the 2nd on every receiving category.

He is definetely going to go to the Hall Of Fame

He is the most consistent receiver out of all the Superstars

He is the best possession receiver since Jerry Rice. He may not get as much credit as Randy Moss or Terrell Owens due to the fact that he isn't so LOUD and isn't as electrifying.

But he makes the plays that he is suppose to make!

He is definetely one of the best route runner in the NFL and is a very intelligent receiver. He has good hands and although not a burner he definetely has enough speed to get open :P

----

Besides Randy Moss, I think Marvin Harrison is the best receiver in the NFL.

Absolutely. One of the all time best. Top 10 right now, but if he continues to produce and succeed for the rest of his career (4-5 more years) he coulod crack the top 5. But, to be fair, NO receiver can be mentioned in the same breath as Rice. People argue over the best all-time QB, RB, LB, etc. Cases can be made for a handful. But when it comes to WR, it is an easy, obvious answer. Rice stands above them all.

Marvin will go to the Hall first ballot. His consistency is amazing considering the Colts had no number 2 receiver to speak of before Reggie Wayne got there. Everyone on the field knew he was getting the ball and he still managed to get open. He's been one of the best receivers for almost a decade and does it without drawing attention to himself. He's not only great he handles himself with class and professionalism.

When his carreer is over...

MARVIN HARRISON WILL
- have crushed all Jerry Rice's records
- go down as the best receiver of all time
- and, of course, go in the HALL OF FAME.
