YES it can, contacdt manufacturer of your laptop to arrange a repair. Most laptops use specific DVD drives so will need to come from them. IF it is a make has a "slot in" style they will probably send it to you (for a price) if not you may have to send them laptop to fit it.

Do you mean the actual slide out tray? the tray you set the Cd into? If thats busted, check your warranty. However, if it was damaged due to your own doing it wont be covered under warranty. you will have to get a replacement drive (check ebay for parts first) or get an external DVD burner. You can go on ebay and pick any brand and it should work, you dont need to stick with the brand of your notebook.

a good repair shop should be able to repair it but first see if it is still under warranty
