I'm a teacher and felt it appropriate to ask this question today as it is "Teacher's Day" in Korea! I would also like to know why and if you wanna add something about a good teacher, feel free to do so! I would have liked the day off, but I gotta go on this stoopid picnic with my co-workers. Eish!

We were taught some stuff called recitation (at senior primary level). And there was this overzealous teacher who made us go to school as early as 6:30. In winter nogal. He would like to hear us shouting through the top of our voices; “The Daffodils” when he passes about 15om from the school while taking his girlfriend to work. He has some spies – honourably called class prefects who would tell him that I was not reciting as expected and he would spank me. Curiously, I honestly can’t remember the very first sentence of that recitation. And I don’t think that he contributed in any way to the person I am today.

In contrast I liked my Accountancy teacher (at high school). He was very strict. All learners were so afraid of him but I was getting along so well with him. I enjoyed his teaching. The headmaster of the same school was my English teacher and what a great man he was. These two definitely shaped the person I am today. Together with some former school mates, we are in the process of establishing a bursary fund in their names!

I've always considered myself very fortunate in the teacher department. My Math teacher from Gr10-12 was a real sweetheart. She would always go the extra mile to make sure we were prepared for exams.
My geography teacher Mr. Putter had a very dry sense of humor - depending on what topic we were studying he's classes could get very dull and every now and then he'd throw in something funny.
My Accounting teacher was very strict, but I'm not complaining - It's her fault I got an A for Acco in Matric!!
The only teacher I can really complain about was my computer science teacher - He was worried more about being friends with everyone in the class then getting us through the exam. (This also happened to be the only subject I did badly in during Matric - I wonder).....

My science teacher in high school was a monster of note!
She always found a reason to kick me out of her class, so I spent most of my grd11 years outside the science lab listening to her yell at everyone... thank goodness she went on maternity leave during my matric year. I finally spent a year in the lab for the 1st time.

Also my accounting teacher. She used to yell at us if we chorused and answer, telling us its not Orange grove primary. She always made me empty my pockets before class (i had sweets and all sorts) and comb my hair (I wasn't a fan of the comb). If you answered a question wrong she yelled at you that a class 4 doors down could hear her. That wasnt necessary...

My worst teacher was the "guidance and N.Sotho teacher" she was an ex policewomen and used to treat all the students like hardened criminals. Also as i discovered to my horror she did not keep "guidence sessions" confidential and in fact blasted my life history to all the teachers and many students in school!! On one occasion she beat me on the hands with a wooden ruler, for getting Sotho spellings wrong ,That i infact reported her to the headmaster and she got suspended!!

However i was lucky to have many wonderful teachers as well and as such still yearn to become a history and english teacher(planning to do TEFL course soon) !!

My PT teacher in high school. She was a b*tch. I remember one day she took gum from a student and rubbed it into her long very long hair. The student slapped her and the class gave the student a round of applause. My best teacher was in standard 10 (Grade 12). She took time out for the students thanks to her I passed my final year with honors.

That would be Mrs.Ross, my maths teacher! Wow...we even got maths to do over the holidays! She rarely ever laughed too. And my accounting teacher, too....can't choose really! But she didn't like me and I ended up with 11/100 on my acc. exam.
