President Bush actually declared war on Al-Qaeda after 9/11 and they did not expect that at all. Especially since they attacked us five times under President Clinton. When Clinton was in The World Trade Center was bombed in February of 1993 in the first attempt to take it down. The Kenyan and Tarzanian US Embassies were bombed, the Khobar Towers were bombed in an attempt to scare the Saudis into not being an ally to us, so Al-Qaeda attacked them to get to us, and then the USS Cole was bombed. All of this happening while Clinton in and the Al-Qaeda never once being called out. When 9/11 happened Bush immediately called them and immediately went to war against them. They do not want to take chances yet and know the best bet is to hope a Democrat gets back in office and they can get back to what they were doing under Clinton's Presidency.

Better security, I would imagine.

Another reason is to point out that there have been hundreds of terrorist attacks since 9/11, but they have all been overseas. It is easier & cheaper (no travel costs) to kill Americans in Iraq, rather than in the U.S., since that country is closer to where the terriorists are from.

There actually was a attack planed. But CIA later learned that for some reason Al Zawari, #2 al Qaeda, called it off, canceling it. I don't know when this happened. But it really freaked out everybody in intelligence because they thought al Qaeda have something even bigger planned and they're trying to be careful not to blow up any cover.

WE took the war to them on their home turf. Great work by the Police, CIA and FBI investigators over here despite the best attempts of the whining cowardly liberals and ACLU to stop them.

2) People are paying attention. Passenagers on planes are keeping track and not willing to sit by and do nothing.
3) We taking them out not in the public eye but out of sight so as not to give away our tatics.
