they must be unaware that guys in prison (which i believe this style came from) do this as a sign of invitation to the other prisoners (if you know what i mean) I work with a retired correctional officer and this is what she said.

Just a trend I guess... I have yet to understand it myself. I did ask one guy and he said because it came from prison, it makes them look as if they have been to prison, I guess so people can think that they are tough. But little do they know why men sagged their pants in jail.

I'm sure the prison behavior is true but this world is huge and not everything works the same way. For young naive kids, that is them just trying to be cool in school because they don't have a mind of their own yet and their doing what's popular. Remember Areosmith?? I'm sure people grew their hair long and didn't wash or brush it and wore tight leathers pants like that was some hot stuff. Same thing. It's all a phase...

mmmm....thinkin? This is an interesting one. If you take a look at the jeans e.g. Phat farm, Sean John etc. The jeans are designed with extremely long crutches. Also the width of the leg is massive, which is hense the reason why a lot of jeans sag on guys because of this reason. One thing i can't understand is the 'Emo' look....Skinny jeans and then they have the cheek sag those as well. Just wear your size guys. Im not asking for you to personally wear them fitted like women but just wear your size.

Well actually sagging pants are because of prison inmates who became accustomed to the outfits worn in prison and chose to apply it to similar outfits once they were free. Realize that belts as well as other male accessories are prohibited in prison. It is now a fashion approach and can be seen as an alternative to the uptight preppy look.

That style of extreme sag is out. Loose but not fitted but not halfway down your but is in with the guys in my neighborhood these days.

they wore pants that way just because rappers wear them as such. if they didn't then some guys would probably follow a different trend.

if they are young they wouldnt be worried about 'invitations' from people in prison.........they are careless i can name 4 people in my class that have snaged there pants this year :)
