No. I think that public health care is not a very big deal to them because it is granted to them. They don't have to think about health care. Maybe if they did have to think about it, bigger steps might be taken towards providing public health care to those who need it most.I think tax-payers dollars could be used for something better- like education, or developing a new type of fuel so we aren't so dependent on oil, or water purification, or anything that will benefit EVERYONE in the US, not just the elected officials. All of their "Perks" that taxpayers foot the bill for, like gourmet steak lunches every day they are in session, need to be terminated.

That is one of the reasons they run for office,We need a complete change ,or make the same for all working americans.Ever think about starting a third party?Where someone poor could run and be for the people? It won't happen because money will talk. Why does county council and county commisoners get insurance and people workin twenty seven hours a week not get it?We must first attend the county meetings, and question these things,Then voice your opinion.Next time take a neighbor with you ,have your neighbor take another ,next time. You will be surprised what showing up in force can do.WE ARE THE PEOPLE!

Nope. They should be compensated by the States which they represent and not the Federal Government.

This would solve a lot of problems and certainly make it impossible for them to determine their own benefit packages....what a sweet deal that is.

Because they voted themselves all those benefits and most Americans these days (of selfish greed and apathy) would do the same if they could.
